Scientific data can be found throughout the bible; from Physics to Oceanography to Biology. Two thousand years before Christopher Columbus proved that the earth was round the prophet Isaiah wrote :
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in; who brings princes to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth like meaningless.
( Isa 40:22-23 )
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.

Every Scripture is God- breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Many bible critics have been silenced by the revelation that the bible states that the earth is round long before Columbus sailed around the world.

Who was it that made this happen? Who has determined the course of history? I, the LORD, was there at the beginning, and I, the LORD, will be there at the end.

Scientific data found in the bible, solidifies that the bible was written according to God’s will. Long before modern science, God’s scribes were made aware of God’s great wisdom and truth.
For there is nothing hidden, except that it should be made known; neither was anything made secret, but that it should come to light.
(Mar 4:22 )
The scripture says, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and set aside the understanding of the scholars." So then, where does that leave the wise? or the scholars? or the skillful debaters of this world? God has shown that this world's wisdom is foolishness!
( 1Co 1:19 – 20 )
In the book of Genesis God gave Noah specific dimensions for the building of the his ship.
God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled withviolence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make a ship of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the ship, and shall seal it inside and outside with pitch. This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship will be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
(Gen 6:13-15)
The ratio of the length to the breadth was a 6:1 ratio. The ratio of length to breadth that Noah was given is the same ratio that modern day oil tankers utilize. It is the most stable dimensions that can be used. Noah never had access to the formulas of modern day physics but he managed to build the ship to the same proportion that modern physicists would have built it.
God makes it clear that his wisdom is beyond ours and we should not question it.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," says God.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
(Isa 55:8-9)
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Now we can take a further look at scientific data found in the bible.
Gravity
"He spreads out the northern [skies] over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing"
(Job 26:7 NIV)
Job states, in speaking of God, that "He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangs the earth upon nothing"
(Job 26:7).
That, of course, is a well-known fact today. The earth is literally "hanging upon nothing." But we must remember that this was not the concept of Job's day. Men in Job's time felt the earth was possibly suspended on the backs of four elephants, which stood on the back of a giant turtle! Or, they felt that the earth was suspended upon the shoulders of a supernaturally strong man! There were many odd views about the condition of the earth, but none stated the matter in the clear and correct manner as does Job.
Circle of the Earth
The Bible states that the earth is round and hangs in space. It took a long time for science to catch up and reach the same conclusions. Copernicus made the discovery in 1475. This Bible verse that was written more than 2500 years ago, and more than 1000 years before Copernicus:
Isaiah says, "It is he [God] who sits upon the circle of the earth "
(Isaiah 40: 22).
You may be surprised to learn that the Bible revealed that the earth is round (Isaiah 40:22). Today, we laugh at the people of the fifteenth century who feared sailing because they thought they would fall over the edge of the flat earth. Yet the Bible revealed the truth in 1000 B.C. 2500 years before man discovered it for himself!
Movement of the Universe
The Bible describes the precision of movement in the universe.
Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. Intem he has set a tent for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. His going forth is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends; There is nothing hidden from its heat.
(Psalm 19:4-6)
For many years, Bible critics scoffed at the Bible stating that this verse taught the old false doctrine that the sun revolves around the earth!
Then, it was recently discovered that the sun is, in fact, moving through space on a vast circuit. It is not stationary, as was once thought. In fact, it is estimated to be moving through space at about 600,000 miles per hour, in an orbit so large it would take an estimated 200,000,000 years just to complete one orbit!
Long before it was discovered that the sun is not stationary while the planets travel around it, but moves through space on a vast circuit, that takes over 200 million years to complete, taking the planets with it, the Bible taught it .
Second Law of Thermodynamics
In three places the Bible affirms that the earth is wearing out.
Isaiah 51:6
Psalms 102:26
Hebrews 1:11
All the scriptures above say that "...the earth will wear out like a garment."
This is precisely what the Second Law of Thermodynamics says: everything is running down, wearing out; energy is becoming less and less available for use; entropy (a measure of randomness, disorderliness, lack of structure) is increasing!
That, of course, means the universe eventually will "wear out." The Bible writers knew it, and stated it clearly. We did not discover it until a few years back. How did the Bible writers know?
The Bible Describes the Circulation of Atmosphere
"the wind goes toward the south and turns around to the north, the wind whirls about continually and comes again on its circuit."
(Ecc. 1:6)
Waves Caused by the Moon
jer. 31:35, "thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who disturbs the sea and its waves roar...”
Waves are caused by the gravitational pull that the moon has on the Earth. The bible stated this fact thousands of years before physicists discovered it.
Wind has weight
job 28:25, "to establish the weight for a wind and apportion the waters by measure."
Modern day physics tells us that the wind does indeed have weight.
Biblical Long Days Verified
As printed in tracts and magazines, the story describes a problem that scientists faced in the space program. Apparently a missing day turned up in the computer positions for the sun and moon over the past centuries. These celestial bodies were not quite where they belonged! The key to the problem was then found in the Old Testament. Mathematical corrections seemed to be needed for the "long days" of Joshua and Hezekiah (Josh. 10:13 , 2 Kings 20:11 ). These events, when inserted into the computer, made everything turn out exactly right.
Hydrologic Water Cycle
Solomon, long ago wrote,
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; unto the place whither the rivers go, there they go again
(Ecclesiastes 1:6-7).
The Mississippi River , when running at an average rate of flow, dumps approximately 6,052,500 gallons of water into the Gulf of Mexico --per second. Where does all that water go? And remember, this is just the water from one river! The answer, of course, lies in the hydrologic cycle, of which the Bible speaks.
It is God who fills the clouds with water and keeps them from bursting with the weight.

"He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight"
(Job 26:8, NIV).
"if the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth."
(Ecclesiastes 11:3)
For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
(Job 36:27-28)
"He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams; the clouds pour down their moisture and abundant showers fall on mankind"
(Job 36:27-28, NIV)
The idea of a complete water cycle was not fully understood or accepted until the 16th and 17th centuries. Yet every aspect of the water cycle was fully revealed to mankind in 1600 B.C.! The Bible's description is in perfect harmony with modern science. The first substantial evidence came from the experiments of Pierre Perrault and Edme Maroitte. Astronomer Edmund Halley also contributed valuable data to the concept of a complete water cycle. More than 2,000 years prior to their discoveries, however, the scriptures indicated a water cycle.
Paths of Seas
Matthew Fontaine Maury (1806-1873) is considered the father of oceanography. Matthew Fontaine Maury was once confined to bed during a lengthy illness. His son, who had been asked to read for him from the Bible, turned to Psalm 8 and upon reading verse 8, drew his father's immediate attention. The verse reads,
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. (Psalm 8:8 KJV)
It had never been noticed by Maury before.
Using this verse he decided to find the "paths of the seas." Indeed, he found just that! He was the first (of whom we have a written record) to recognize that the seas were circulating systems with interaction between wind and water. His book on physical oceanography is still considered a basic text for studies of that sort. The book, Matthew Fontaine Maury: Pathfinder of the Seas, by C. S. Lewis (published in 1927 by the U.S. Naval Institute), recounts the entire story. Maury "took God at His Word" and found that Word to be fully accurate! His book on oceanography is still considered a basic text on the subject and is still used in universities. Maury used the Bible as a guide to scientific discovery.
Springs of the Sea
Job was asked by God, "Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep?"
(Job 38:16)
The Hebrew word for "recesses" (or "trenches") refers to that which is "hidden, and known only by investigation.
Man, in previous centuries, thought of the seashore as nothing but a shallow, sandy extension from one continent to another. Then, in 1873 a team of British scientists searching in the Pacific Ocean found a "recess" five and one-half miles deep. Later, another team of scientists found in the Pacific Ocean a trench more than six miles deep! The book of Job stated that there are” recesses of the deep”, even though they were not discovered for centuries.
The Bible stated the existence of valleys and springs in the seas: Only until the past few hundred years did people have the technology to discover that there are deep valleys and fresh water springs in the oceans.
"The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the Lord. . . "
(2 Samuel 22:16, NIV)
Blood
Moses told the Israelites that "the life of the flesh is in the blood" (Leviticus 17:11 -14). Indeed, Moses was correct. Because the red blood cells can carry oxygen (due to hemoglobin in the cells), life is made possible.
Circumcision
According to the Old Testament, circumcision was to be performed on the eighth day of a newborn male's life
And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
(Genesis 17:11 - 14)
In 1935, Professor H. Dam proposed the name "Vitamin K" for the factor in foods that helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know that Vitamin K is responsible for the production of prothrombin by the liver. If Vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur, since both Vitamin K and prothrombin are necessary for proper blood clotting. Oddly enough, it is only on the fifth through the seventh days of the newborn male's life that Vitamin K begins to be produced (usually produced by bacteria in the intestinal tract). It is only on the eighth day that the percentage of prothrombin climbs above 100%!
The only day in the entire life of the newborn that the blood-clotting element prothrombin is above 100% is day eight. Therefore, the best day for circumcision is the eighth day! Did Moses have access to modern-day scientific knowledge, or did God tell him to write this?
Child Birth
Genesis 3:15 says, "...between her seed and thy seed," revealing that a female (as well as a male) possesses the seed of life.
Such, however, was not believed in Moses' day, or even until recently. Ancient writers believed that only the male possesses the seed of life, and that the female was nothing more than a "glorified incubator." One writer even suggested that you could deposit the male semen in the warm mud, and the result would be the same as depositing it in the human female! How was Genesis so accurate?
Mental Health
The Bible stated that kind words and laughter are good for one's health: In recent years, newspapers have published various reports that laughter releases chemicals within a person's body that can contribute to one's health. And, that depression and stress can weaken the immune system and contribute to various health problems. But, the Bible knew of the health virtues of laughter roughly 3000 years ago when the Bible's book of Proverbs was recorded:
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."
(Proverbs 16:24, NIV).
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
(Proverbs 17:22, NIV).
Cleanliness , Bacteria
God commanded the Hebrews to cleanse themselves with fresh water even before the discovery of bacteria(God is in the tomorrow already!)
lev. 15:13 , "...he must wash his clothes and bathe himself with fresh water, and he will be clean."
In modern times patients with contagious disease or condition are isolated. God commanded this a long time ago:
lev. 13:46, "as long as he has the infection, he remains unclean. he must live alone . he must live outside the camp.
Health officials quarantine infectious individuals to prevent the spread infection.
The Flood
The worldwide flood of Noah's time (Genesis 1:2,6,9; 7:11 -24) has been ridiculed often
In 1885, Edward Suess was one of the first geologists to publish a study based on the geologic framework of all countries. His research, especially in his observations of the world's mountain ranges, led to his discovery that all land surfaces had been under water. This explains why you find shells on the tops of mountains.
Many huge fossil beds have been found where great numbers of many different types of animals were together. The Flood explains this. As waters rose, animals sought higher ground and eventually were all together, then were swept off together where currents deposited them along with loads of sediment.
The evidence of quickly-frozen Mammoths in Siberia is in favor of the Flood.
The Grand Canyon is evidence of the Flood: water cut through material that was not yet consolidated after it had been deposited by the Flood.
Ernst Mayr, a leading taxonomist, lists only 17,600 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. How would you get all those animals in the Ark ?
Taking sheep as the average size for the animals, you can fit 240 sheep into a two-level boxcar.
The Ark was a huge box with enough space for 522 boxcars (the measurements are in Genesis 6:15 ).
This means all the animals would fit, leaving plenty of space for food and people.
