Disciple Lessons - Christian Soliders: Armour of God

WEB - World English Bible

Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of his mighty power.

(Ephesians 6:10 GNB)

Put on all the armor that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand up against the Devil's evil tricks.

(Ephesians 6:11 GNB)

For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.

(Ephesians 6:12 GNB)

So put on God's armor now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy's attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground.

(Ephesians 6:13 GNB)

So stand ready, with truth as a belt tight around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate,

(Ephesians 6:14 GNB)

and as your shoes the readiness to announce the Good News of peace.

(Ephesians 6:15 GNB)

At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One.

(Ephesians 6:16 GNB)

And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you.

(Ephesians 6:17 GNB)

Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people.

(Ephesians 6:18 GNB)

Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to reliable people, who will be able to teach others also.

(2 Timothy 2:2 GNB)

Take your part in suffering, as a loyal soldier of Christ Jesus.

(2 Timothy 2:3 GNB)

A soldier on active duty wants to please his commanding officer and so does not get mixed up in the affairs of civilian life.

(2 Timothy 2:4 GNB)

An athlete who runs in a race cannot win the prize unless he obeys the rules.

(2 Timothy 2:5 GNB)

The farmer who has done the hard work should have the first share of the harvest.

(2 Timothy 2:6 GNB)

Think about what I am saying, because the Lord will enable you to understand it all.

(2 Timothy 2:7 GNB)

Remember Jesus Christ, who was raised from death, who was a descendant of David, as is taught in the Good News I preach.

(2 Timothy 2:8 GNB)

Because I preach the Good News, I suffer and I am even chained like a criminal. But the word of God is not in chains,

(2 Timothy 2:9 GNB)

and so I endure everything for the sake of God's chosen people, in order that they too may obtain the salvation that comes through Christ Jesus and brings eternal glory.

(2 Timothy 2:10 GNB)

This is a true saying: "If we have died with him, we shall also live with him.

(2 Timothy 2:11 GNB)

If we continue to endure, we shall also rule with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.

(2 Timothy 2:12 GNB)

If we are not faithful, he remains faithful, because he cannot be false to himself."

(2 Timothy 2:13 GNB)
